Once you disable Snap Assist, simply close the Windows 10 Settings window and then try to snap an application or window to one side or corner of your Windows 10 desktop. Now select newly created key AppPositioner and in right-side pane, create a new DWORD AlwaysEnableLSSnapping and set its value to 1. If you vertical snap a window and extend it to the edge it'll either snap 1/4 or half snap to the other side.
