When I restored the change reported immediately above, though, that fix no longer worked. It is that way on both of mine and I have confirmed that with WD support. The WD Live has an option for putting the audio output through the optical connection and it has four independently (and simultaneously) options - AAC capable receiver, Dolby Digital capable receiver, Same file with old Wd Tv: no problem at all. Wd Tv Live Aac 5.1 Problem Configuration WDTV Player Live plus---HDMI-cable---TV--Optical-cable---Surround Receiver No audio, Error message "Not Supported by TV" when I attempt to set up the audio on the wdtv user interface. __________________ Now the weirdness Wd Media Player I believe if set in Digital mode, the WD TV Live will downmix the TrueHD audio for you (outputs as 2ch PCM IIRC).
