You might need to remove the dollar signs from the first part of your VLOOKUP. The copy function works fine. My ERP system only allows * as special characters so all my item number data exports have * in them. I had some hidden columns so my VLOOKUP was not working!
It happens when people import their data from different source systems, or through flawed programming logic that neglects to remove the space in the first place.
