I recently upgraded my home PC from Visual Studio 2010 and 11 Beta to Visual Studio 2012. I was also running Visual Studio 2012 on the same box and it did not have the same problem; intellisense popped the list up on the period. I keep losing not only Intellisense, but undo/redo stops working (even greys out in the Edit menu, until I reopen the menu a few times), along with copy/paste and most (sometimes Source The Ctrl+Alt+Space didn't work so did the command line solution.
The very first thing I noticed was that after about 10 minutes of programming my Intellisense quit working and never came back. The solutions to this is uninstall MSDN and then re-install . I even tried installing ReSharper and nothing worked.
