The sensor bar works better when there's not as much light.Also make sure you have it set properly in the Wii options. You mean you had it set up vertically? Like, the Wiimote needs to have the black-ish piece of plastic on the front, because that's what filters the light to only let IR light through to the camera. C2 Tech sensor bar.
