I created a brand new VM, chose Windows Server 2012 as the guest type (which automatically makes it EFI instead of BIOS) and installed Windows Server 2012 and the guest tools Now you can select Add Roles and Features from under the Tasks menu. It does not appear they even understand what the actual issue is or why it's happening, but they've essentially washed their hands of the matter.     System Preparation tools are built into the Windows 8 operating system and do not have to be downloaded.

I have tried using a similar spec to my Windows 7 VMs for use with Horizon View with no luck. Consequently, Virtual centre does not require them to deploy from template either!! We need to Enable the next boot to enter BIOS setup, and we need to Disable logging.  See below for what this should look like.
