On pg 49,where it mentions the TV Speaker function also. Make sure both AV cables are plugged in and that the television volume is not on mute and up to a reasonable volume. It's now working with sound. When I first plugged it in, I was getting sound, and then for some reason when I turned it on last night, I was getting no sound. Sound appeared instantly. but now i think it's a handshake issue between the wii u and the tv.

Change to a different HDMI port didn't work. I tried the settings on the WII U but it only asks whether i want surround sound, stereo or mono. I tried known working cables for the following with no positive results: Different HDMI cable, different Video cable. If the sound doesn't work, it's definitely the TV and it's not the Wii having issues.

Everything worked earlier this afternoon and then refuses to work this evening with no changes made. I am thinking either the receiver is starting to go out or the power issues in the room are getting worse due to to much load.
